Ballyliffin Golf Club

Ireland's most 'northerly' club was founded in 1947. The Ballyliffin Golf Course is famous for its par 3 fifth hole.

This newly designed Glashedy (Craddock and Ruddy) links course provides the average golfer with a very fair test of ability amid the rolling sand dunes and spectacular scenery of the Inishowen Peninsula..

The par 3 seventh hole is played from the top of the sand dune to a green guarded by bunkers on three sides and a lake on the other.

Nick Faldo has played the course and has vowed to return and Fred Daly describes it as 'a hidden jewel'. Other accolades have come from the Heineken Book of Golf which enthused 'a true links and a true test of golf against a background of spectacular scenery,' and described the course as the 'Royal Dornock of Ireland'. The recent addition of another 18 holes has made Ballyliffin a most attractive venue for a golf package.

"The Old Course at Ballyliffin is the most natural course I have ever played." - Nick Faldo
