Westport Golf Club

Since arriving in Carrowholly back in 1973, Westport Golf Club has hosted a number Amateur Championships. The most recent was the 2009 Amateur Senior Gents Home Internationals.

The Course was designed by the internationally renowned Golf architect, Fred Hawtree, of the renowned British firm of Hawtree and Sons. He said of the course, the nature of the terrain, part inland and part seaside, the panorama which it commands and its considerable golfing virtues, make it uniquely attractive and memorable.

Local Knowledge
  • Ireland’s holy mountain Crough Patrick overlooks the course and it is a sight to behold. If your round isn’t going as planned don’t be afraid to pray for some intervention!
  • Matt Molloy the famous flute player who has played with The Chieftains owns a bar in Westport simply named Matt Molloy’s. Definitely worth a visit as they have regular Irish traditional music sessions and what better way to unwind after a day on the golf course!
